About Me

At Toodle-Loo Speech Pathology, I am passionate about providing exceptional mobile speech therapy services for children aged 2 to 6. As a mother to an ADHDer who underwent speech therapy for 5 years, I understand the importance of holistic and compassionate care. I also understand the enormous positive impact Early Intervention can have on a child and their family.
I am an experienced speech pathologist dedicated to helping your child reach their full communication and language development potential. Contact me today to schedule a consultation and see how I can help your child thrive.
My Values
Neurodiversity Affirming Practice
At Toodle-Loo, I believe that every child has exceptional strengths. I tailor my approach to fit each child’s individual communication style, encouraging growth while honouring their authentic way of interacting with others and the world around them.
Evidence-Based Practice
At Toodle-Loo, I'm all about learning! I'm passionate about staying current with the latest research in speech, language, play, and neurodevelopment so I can bring the best techniques into each therapy session.
Play is the way!
At Toodle-Loo, play is at the heart of my approach because it's fun and effective! Did you know that it usually takes 400 repetitions to create a new brain connection? But through play, it only takes 10 to 20! Research shows that kids learn best when their experiences are joyful, connected to their lives, and socially interactive, which is why I make learning so engaging and meaningful. I acknowledge that all play is valid, including play that reflects the unique ways autistic children interact with their world.
My Journey
Before I became a speech pathologist, I had a fascinating career in archaeology and museum studies. I spent 9 years working in roles that ranged from customer service to assistant curator and research assistant for the redevelopment of an Aboriginal gallery. However, my path took a deeply personal turn when my son was born 5 weeks premature. As he grew, he faced speech and language delays, but with the incredible support of early intervention and an amazing speechie, he thrived. Inspired by his journey, I decided to go back to university to pursue a Masters in Speech Pathology. Juggling clinical placements, homeschooling my son, and navigating life during the COVID-19 pandemic was no small feat, but it shaped me into the dedicated therapist I am today. Now, as both a parent and a speechie, I truly understand the challenges and triumphs on both sides of the journey—and I’m here to help your little one thrive, too.
Meet a child where they're at
At Toodle-Loo, I truly value meeting each child where they are and recognizing their unique strengths and abilities, including their communication competence. By acknowledging their existing skills and respecting their individual interests, I tailor my approach to support their growth in a way that feels right for them. This personalized approach builds confidence and fosters effective communication, making learning enjoyable and impactful.
Supporting the whole child
At Toodle-Loo, I know that kids are more than just their speech - that's why I
embrace a holistic approach to therapy. This means that I support a child's communication needs in consideration of their sensory and movement requirements as well. I ensure that each child can develop the tools and strategies they need to thrive. Whether it's a wiggly child needing to move or a little one who benefits from a quiet sensory break, I'm here to make them feel comfortable and ready to grow.
Connection over compliance
At Toodle-Loo, I believe that kids learn best when they feel connected and cared for, so I prioritize building relationships over simply doing what I tell them to do. When children feel safe, happy, and understood, they’re more likely to open up and make real progress. By fostering trust and creating a supportive environment, I ensure each child can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace, leading to greater success and more smiles along the way.
